Relativity is seeking for an experienced Atlassian Application Administrator with experience in ITSM / ITIL process management to join our Internal Technology (IT) department.  IT’s mission is to deliver technology solutions that connect, secure, and accelerate our employees and customers world-wide.  Our IT team is primarily located in Chicago, USA, with a smaller team in Krakow, Poland. Our employees are based in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia, and Hong Kong. 
As an Application Administrator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the internal Jira & Confluence applications across Relativity. You will work closely with business and IT teams to champion these applications. You will participate on exciting projects (e.g. implementing and extending Jira Service Desk). You will work with business partners to discover pain points, define objectives, recommend best practices, and deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate succeeds and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and thrives on being collaborative while solving hard problems.  A proven record building great cross-functional experiences is required.  
You will report to a local IT Sr. Manager, who oversees the IT team in Krakow. You will work closely with a local peer Atlassian Application Administrator, and you will collaborate with a team of 4 in Chicago, who will provide direction on assigned work, feedback, and mentorship. 
This role is fully remote.  After the pandemic is resolved, you may optionally work from our office in Krakow part or full-time. 

Technical Environment Details

  • Our systems are used only by Relativity employees across the entire organization (Engineering, HR, Security, IT, etc.). We have almost 1500 active users whose accounts (and most user groups) are managed with Active Directory. 
  • Our changes are planned into Sprints. We implement them first into a Development environment, then test in a Staging environment.  Once accepted by the customer – we’re release them to Production. 


  • We have a Data Center version 8.4.2 and working on upgrade to 8.13.1 (LTS) on Q1, 2021 
  • We perform version upgrades at least once a year and always look to Long Term Support releases 
  • We’re constantly reviewing the plugins capabilities to reuse them and reduce their number 
  • We both have standardized projects as well as customizations

Role Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders across multiple business units and be their trusted advisor. 
  • Work with the business, service managers, and the IT delivery teams to ensure that business needs are prioritized, understood, and supported in a timely matter. 
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to translate business strategies and objectives into capabilities and present solution concepts for input, buy-in, and sign off. 
  • Ability to investigate cross-functional business processes and envision the possibility of new or optimized business needs. 
  • Create, manage, and support all administrative functions associated with the Jira & Confluence applications. 
  • Ensure systems are stable and available and that user issues are addressed in a timely manner. 
  • Create and manage complex JIRA components including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes in JIRA. 
  • Gather requirements from users, propose solutions that meet business needs, and deliver agreed upon solutions. 
  • Devise, test, and deploy integrations between Atlassian products and other internal systems. 
  • Promote adoption and best practices related to Jira & confluence amongst the user-community. 
  • Have an understanding of what business value is and how to create it. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Atlassian products, administration best practices, and agile methodology best practices. 
  • Speak the Polish language. 

Preferred qualifications

  • At least 3 years of proven experiencing implementing and enabling ITIL processesin incident management, problem management, change management, request fulfillment)solutions in Jira, Confluence, and peripheral applications/technologies. 
  • Experience with Bitbucket is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with Service Desk is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with these add-ons: Automation for Jira, Adaptavist ScriptRunner, Insight Asset Mgmt. 
  • Experience with extending Atlassian products is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with Atlassian Cloud products is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with performance tuning Jira & Confluence considered a plus. 
  • Experience with SQL is considered a plus. 
  • Experience with Splunk is considered a plus. 
  • ITIL Foundations certification is considered a plus. 
  • Speak English proficiently.

  • Experience working and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment. 
  • At least 2+ years of experience working supporting Jira and Confluence at the administrative level (e.g. working with boards, user management, workflows, custom fields, context mgmt, add-ons). 
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile (Scrum or Kanban) methodologies. 
  • Atlassian Jira and/or Confluence certification(s) or equivalent work experience. 
  • Strong JQL knowledge.
