Editor’s Note: Automated Workflows is now available for RelativityOne customers in Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, and United States. On October 10, users in Australia, UK, and Europe will have access to this functionality.

As any Relativity administrator knows, projects can’t truly begin with processing. There’s a list of tasks that must be accomplished before you can import documents into a workspace. We built Relativity this way so you could have the flexibility and power to conduct your e-discovery processes as you see fit.

With this approach, you can organize your workspaces, coding panes, and metadata fields in a way that optimizes readability for your teams.

Still, this process can make for some up-front effort when time is of the essence in kicking off a review.

With Aero UI, we’re aiming to maintain the power you need to tackle any matter thrown your way but make it simple and intuitive for users who are new to the platform. The new Automated Workflows application has a hand in doing just that.

With Automated Workflows, you can unlock automation within your workspaces to take manual steps out of the case setup process. In the initial release, you can automate dtSearch index building and re-running search term reports whenever new documents are added to your workspace. You can standardize across matters by building automation into your Relativity workspace templates, which carries over your automation across projects. Setting this up will ensure that your users have a consistent experience in RelativityOne—and prevent repeat work for admins.

And this is only the beginning. After our initial launch, we are looking to open up more activities to automation. Our short-term focus will be delivering on case setup, with the goal of saving you time throughout this critical process.

Over the next few months, as we add additional functionality to the tool, we’ve estimated the below time savings for the average team:

  • 34 minutes and 40 clicks every day
  • 60 hours and 2,600 clicks every month
  • 740 hours and 31,000 clicks every year

While this initial wave of releases will focus on case creation and setup, we won’t stop there—we want to leverage the best the cloud has to offer. We plan to expand the functionality and availability of triggers and actions to go beyond review, so, in the future, you’ll be able to connect workflows not only within review but across the EDRM.

Eventually, Automated Workflows will start connecting your processes within and outside of the workspace environment.

We’re excited for you to begin automating manual steps in RelativityOne, and we encourage you to take advantage of what’s available today to create a consistent, repeatable case setup process. Ultimately, our goal is to save you time—and enable you to focus on the work that truly needs your expert attention.

The future of Automated Workflows looks bright. Setting up automations is easy, simple, and powerful. You’ll be able to select from a variety of triggers and actions to build out your automation as your business needs. Even more powerful is the APIs and framework partners and developers will be able to leverage to build out their own automation within RelativityOne.

We can’t wait to see what you do with this application—and, more importantly, with the time it will empower you to spend on more pressing tasks, like case strategy.
