Reimagining Review: Inside Review Center's Latest Evolution

Review teams are being asked to do more with every matter. Document and data volumes keep growing, teams are becoming more distributed, and speed expectations continue to climb. But the results still need to stand up to scrutiny.

That tension isn’t unique to any one team or matter – it’s the direction review is moving across the industry, and the tools reviewers rely on play a real part in whether that pressure feels manageable or overwhelming. Review Center was purpose-built for those challenges, and the work we've been doing lately reflects where review management is headed.

Why Review Center

From the start, Review Center was designed to be the destination for all review management needs: one location where admins configure workflows, reviewers get to work, and project leads have a clear picture of progress without waiting on a status update.

That design comes down to one principle: reviewers should be able to focus on what they're reviewing, not on how to get there. Every minute spent checking out work or hunting for the right view is a minute not spent reviewing documents. Review Center was built to keep that overhead to a minimum, with an experience that gets reviewers into their queue quickly and a real-time dashboard that keeps progress visible to everyone who needs to see it.

Bringing batch review into Review Center

Batch-based review has long been one of the most common ways teams distribute and manage review work. It's familiar, it's dependable, and documents end up grouped and assigned exactly the way you intend. But managing it has often meant extra clicks just to keep things moving – checking out work, switching screens, hunting down the right batch before review can even start.

Now batch review is built into Review Center, so everything your team needs is in one place. Admins get a live view of where the review stands through the dashboard, with charts showing review speed and relevance rates, and a dedicated “Batches” table tracking status for every batch as work moves forward. When new documents arrive mid-review, auto-refresh folds them into batches on its own – there's nothing to rebuild, and reviewers keep working without interruption. Reviewer access is managed through Review Center directly, so there's no separate permission configuration to maintain elsewhere in the platform.

For reviewers, the difference is immediate. Getting from queue to document now takes a single click, and the batch opens directly in the Viewer. In early usability testing, reviewers spent roughly 88 percent less time and made 92 percent fewer clicks every time they moved between batches. Multiply that across every transition, every reviewer, and a full review matter, and you're looking at hours back on every project – time that goes into the review instead of the clicks around it.

And once reviewers are in, they can stay there. Finishing a batch and picking up the next one now happens right inside the Viewer, which means an entire day of review can unfold in one place, start to finish.

A rebuilt queue creation experience

Getting a review queue off the ground is now faster and more straightforward, starting with a new creation modal that walks admins through setup in a guided, organized flow.

The flow begins with a single question: how should documents be delivered to reviewers? Everything that follows adjusts to that choice, so admins only configure the settings that apply to the workflow they're building.

Rather than navigating across separate screens, they move through a structured experience where admin settings, review experience settings, and an expandable advanced section are all clearly organized. You configure what's relevant and skip what isn't, with template selection surfaced right in the modal so recurring workflows can start from a saved setup rather than from scratch.

Getting a batch queue running takes just a few decisions. Name it, point it to a data source, set your batch sizes, and reviewers are ready to start. That simplicity is huge, because on a matter with a deadline, the sooner the queue is live, the sooner the review is moving.

Where we're headed

As active as this past year has been for Review Center, the pace of innovation isn't slowing down. Review is at an inflection point. The volume of data isn’t leveling off, timelines aren’t getting longer, and the teams that keep up will be the ones whose tools evolve alongside the work.

That’s the thinking behind what’s next. We're working to bring aiR Assist into the review experience itself, giving reviewers helpful answers and context right where they're working, without leaving their queue. Agentic capabilities are on the roadmap as well, and admins stand to gain just as much there. Picture a true partner for running your review – one that helps shape your review plan and work through it alongside you.

And that vision goes beyond reviewers and admins working alongside AI – picture AI agents moving through documents at unparalleled speeds, directed by your team, with aiR’s analysis built right into the queue. As both take shape, they'll follow the same principle as everything else in Review Center, keeping teams focused on the work rather than the tool.

Review Center exists to make review work better, not just faster. The workflows are getting cleaner, the setup quicker, and the time savings compound in ways that change what's possible for the teams running review. And the work we're most excited about is still ahead.
