E-Discovery heavyweight Relativity has become the latest legal technology company to expand into the realm of contracts with its acquisition of contract review platform Heretik.

Relativity said today that it has acquired Heretik, an AI contract review company whose product was built on the Relativity platform and whose staff is half composed of former Relativity employees.

Relativity announced Monday that it acquired contract review provider Heretik for an undisclosed sum. In a press release, the company said that Heretik’s solution will be rebranded as Relativity Contracts and integrated into RelativityOne.

The acquisition will allow RelativityOne to offer deeply integrated, purpose-built contract review and intelligence capabilities.

As Relativity users leverage the platform in more privacy and data security cases, Relativity hopes that a new single data fee for to its cloud-based RelativityOne software will allow for flexibility and added innovation.

The subscription plan eliminates user fees, enabling customers to accelerate innovation in the cloud.
